One of the few Segreto survivors was
a young paramedic named Evan Morel. No
one would ever believe the blond, clean-cut, twenty-three-year-old kid was half
demon. He looked like the proverbial
boy-next-door, his blue eyes radiating innocence.
He treated Alex's many wounds in a
small motel in Kinston, where the Lashams had fled. He never mentioned the hospital, though it
was painfully clear to anyone with eyesight that Alex needed to be in a full
medical facility.
