nail.” Alex actually looked pleased, as
if happy she could drag Lena into the fight once more.
She
referred to the nail they had used to defeat Lilith last time, the one Lena had
infused with fire and strength hours after she’d been conceived. It had been taken from the coffin of a
previous Segreto warrior, the one who had discovered that woman’s capacity for
creation was the key to exiling Lilith to the realm between Heaven and
Earth. Alex had kept it for all these
years. She carefully hoarded as a relic
and tool for the next person tasked with keeping the world safe from the
demoness.
